First of all, in a few blurbs...here's what I have going on at the moment.
What I've Been Reading:
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I'm a huge fan of Eat, Pray, Love - I read it 4 times - but this book has a totally different purpose. What I love about this author is that she is full of stories that teach us lessons, but then after we reflect on what we just read, we realize we are all full of those stories. Read it if you are in need of a more creative, exciting lifestyle.
Strong Looks Better Naked by Khloe Kardashian. I have no shame in my love for the Kardashians. My sisters and I joke that I am the Kim, Amy is the Kourtney, Alyssa is the Khloe, and our mom is totally Kris. #KeepingUpWithTheLarimores. Anyway...what I love about this book is that Khloe never pretends to be a health expert. She isn't one. It's just a personal story about getting her life back on track spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. It's a journalistic approach to a super relatable topic. Read it if you're in need of some self-improvement but you aren't sure where to start.
#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. I haven't written about it on the blog yet, but I've been working at a clothing store since this summer. I'm now the buyer and the manager, which has been an incredible experience. I truly love my job. This book is written by the creator of Nasty Gal, which inspires me, of course, because of my job in fashion. However, what I love the most about it is just her attitude. This is a great read for any woman who is serious about her career, whether it's fashion or anything else in the world. Read it if you want great career tips and you're ready to take your professional life to the next level.
I have absolutely loved reading my entire life, but I just haven't made the time in college. The good thing is, I've been picking it back up lately, which has made me so incredibly happy! Reading is relaxing to me, and I love learning new things. One of my strengths on StrengthsQuest is Input, which basically means that I love to store even the most random tidbits of information and see where I can use them later. This is reading for me. I make time to read on airplanes since I fly more than anyone I know. It's a guilt-free time for me to read; if I sit around my house reading, I feel lazy.
What I've Been Working Towards:
What My Day-To-Day Life Looks Like:
I have one semester left of college, and I'm so sad about it. I have (gasp!) 90% made a decision on what I'll be doing upon graduation. I'm not ready to announce those plans yet, but I am veryyyyyyy excited about them!
I just spent 10 days at home for winter break with my family, which was wonderful. I got to spend time with my nieces and nephews, go to my oldest niece's dance showcase, go out to bars with my friends, go to a Ravens game, and get dinner with my mom and sisters several times. Finished a book, got my hair and nails done, caught up on sleep, laughed endlessly with my cousins...it was a good 10 days. But I'm happy to be back at work and back in the gym, making money and losing weight.
Tomorrow I'm headed to New Orleans to celebrate New Years and cheer on the Rebels in the Sugar Bowl! It is going to be an amazing time, and I am so excited to spend it with wonderful people.
I will have a review of my 2015 and a peek into my 2016 here on the blog for you upon my return from NOLA!
Thanks for reading,
