So this week, I started a new health/beauty regimen that I want to share with you. It's an Ancient Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing cold pressed, organic Coconut Oil in your mouth for 20 minutes every morning right when you wake up -- before you eat, brush your teeth, or drink. You can also use Sesame Oil or many other different oils from what I've read, but Coconut Oil seems to be the talk of the town right now.
I know what you're thinking...
Where the hell did this come from?! That is so disgusting! Why would I do this?!
A: It has been around for ages! I found out about it through other health and beauty blogs that I read, and looked into it further on endless medical websites.
B: It's not that disgusting! The first time I did it, it was definitely tough. After that, no big deal!
C: Take a look at the list of just SOME of the benefits that Oil Pulling provides...
-Definitely starting to whiten my teeth. Crest White strips do work, but I hate buying them because if you don't do it consistently then it really doesn't show... and you've wasted $40.00. This is cheaper and easier.
-It's working as a detox. I feel like I've been eating Fiber One bars and drinking Detox Tea or something. But not in a bad way.
-My skin is so clear!!! I literally have a glow today. Oil Pulling is good for the overall complexion of the skin and can clear up acne and eczema. (unrelated -- but it's also good for asthma).
-My morning breath is getting less disgusting. My mouth feels so much more fresh and clean when I wake up than ever before AND throughout the day.

Why the mouth? The health of your mouth is a reflection of the rest of your body. If your mouth is healthy, you're doin' alright! If it's not, you're probably not.
