The first thing this article did well was include the multimedia at the very beginning, even before the lead. The SAE fraternity chanting racial slurs is included for the readers in an audio box. This allows the readers to have background information (and confirm the story for themselves, hearing it firsthand) when reading the written portion.
I found this story to be very interesting because I also go to a school where Greek life is huge, athletics are huge, and racial issues are still strongly present due to the Southern history of the school. I also have a friend, Jake, who goes to OU (but is in a different fraternity) and said that he actually walked through the protest himself. Upon hearing this from Jake, I thought about the chaos this would bring about if this were happening at my school. The actions of SAE are inexcusable, but everyone else (who is not responsible) must just be mortified and embarrassed that their school has a negative connotation at the fault of someone else.
The organization of the article was good. Instead of writing in a traditional format, the quotes were separated from person to person; each speaker got their own paragraph. It was easy to follow. It was also important to include because readers are anxious to see what the people of OU have to say about the occurrence.
